"And it was ACID agents who locked Jenna away for life, for a horrendous crime she struggles to remember."Maybe I didn't get far enough in the book - I dropped it at only 4% after the first chapter - but she doesn't seem to be struggling all that much:
'I killed my parents,' I murmur, and watch his eyes go wide. The writing is - as far as I have read - by no means bad, but it isn't great either and feels like something that would only capture my interest were I younger and not so used to better writing.
I decided to give this a chance after reading a review from a trusted reviewer who found it lacking. Despite going into this with low expectations I was still surprised at how, not awful, but certainly not good it was. Needless to say lesson learned and I think the next time Emma Pass comes up I will give her book a pass.
